Karen (Davidson) Peterson studied Psychology at Virginia Tech and earned her BFA in Fine Arts and Art History from VCU’s School of the Arts in Richmond, VA.
A cross-country move to San Francisco after college allowed for an eye-opening perspective of the world. Working under the direction of two partners in corporate finance in investment banking offered the opportunity to connect and communicate regularly with CEOs and leaders of global companies. Another cross-country move took her to New England, and in Boston, she learned the art of national media buying and print and media advertising while working for a leader in international liquidation companies. She co-owned and ran a small bed and breakfast and opened Two Dogs Working, an art gallery in downtown Salem, MA.
After returning to the Williamsburg area in 2003, Karen helped grow a small, local media company from seven employees into a corporation of more than 75 in three states. She helped to build the company’s operating platform of online newspapers supported by local radio stations. She currently is working in corporate marketing and communications for a Fortune 500 company headquartered in the Richmond area. She continues to consult and create freelance graphic design and returns to the studio whenever possible.
